Blessing25 viewsSome of us participated in a blessing for a new canoe. This took place around 5:30 am before the race venue began. This canoe is a Bradley Lightning just like the ones we are getting next month and from the same mold. If you notice there is an offering for the sea on the bow consisting of salmon on rice with orchids and banana leaves.

Blessing23 viewsWe all held hands around the canoe while the preacher did his ritual blessing by saying words of respect and anointing fresh sea water from Hawaii on every aspect of the canoe.
